FMCSA Federal Filing System Outage starting 5/14

Read below for an important update regarding upcoming changes to the FMCSA Licensing & Insurance (L&I) systems that will impact insurance filings.
Effective end of business on May 14, 2026, the FMCSA L&I systems will be taken offline indefinitely as the agency transitions to its new MOTUS platform.
Shutdown Info:
Date & Time: FMCSA’s legacy filing system will be shut down on Thursday, May 14 at 8:00 PM ET.
No Filing Capability: There will be no ability to submit Federal filings from May 14 at 8:00 PM ET through Monday, May 18 (exact time TBD).
Please be Aware:
Filings will not post to FMCSA during the system transition period
Processing timelines may be extended once MOTUS becomes available due to the required manual submission process
The bulk filing process will not be immediately available when MOTUS goes live
